This date marks the very beginning Maison Amiot’s history. Following her husband death two years earlier, Elisa Amiot decided to take the lead of this trade into her own hands. On April 10th 1884, she founded her fine sparkling wine estate, Veuve Amiot. She was a woman with strong personality, intelligent, dynamic and ambitious, and she set a goal for herself that was as lofty as her standards: to develop and distribute a Saumur of prestige, that would be known throughout the world for its impeccable quality. With her sonss’ assistance, she quickly managed to develop Veuve Amiot’s awareness.
