The brand was established in 1963, but the legend of Casillero del Diablo dates to the 19th Century at the cellar of Don Melchor, Concha y Toro's founder. Wine was being stolen out of the cellar, so Don Melchor spread a rumor that the cellar was haunted by the devil himself, 'El Diablo'.
